iPhone 3G Exchange inbox problem cannot get Email - fix

Issue: only the inbox is not working correctly ... (does not receive email)
Known: email comes in correctly to all other folders but not the inbox, also other email accounts (non exchange work correctly)
Fix: All you have to do is create a personal file folder in Outlook and then create an inbox mail folder under this new personal file folder. Then copy all of your emails in your Exchange inbox over to the inbox in your new personal file folder. Copy them all, no matter if it is gigs of emails.

Once completed, send a test email to your exchange server and it should then appear on the iPhone 3G.

You can now move your emails back to the Exchange inbox folder and all should be well.

this worked for me just 5 mins ago.

Nothing still the same

Nothing still the same problem.... but for now this works! Every time I get the "Cannot get Mail" i do the following: * go into iPhone settings * change one character in server address (usually add a "/" at the end or delete it) e.g. (mail.ourserver.com:8443/ OR mail.ourserver.com:8443) both work but sometimes the inbox is blank if we don't include the "/" * wait approx. 2 - 5 minutes and making sure the iPhone can't go to sleep by touching the screen every 30 sec. or so :)

from a forum: Try hard

from a forum: Try hard coding an IP address for the server name. Ping your server's fully qualified name and see the IP address you get back from the outside. then put that IP as the server name. If your network is setup correctly the firewall should route all 443 traffic internally to the front end server...

after a while of using it ...
